    Description

When your Massey Ferguson starts burning oil, making noise, or just doesn't have the pulling power it used to, an engine overhaul can bring it back to life. This comprehensive kit gives you all the major components needed for a basic rebuild of your 318 cubic inch Perkins diesel - everything except the bearings, which you'll want to have measured and fitted properly by your machine shop.

    What You're Getting

    • Complete cylinder sleeve set with seals for proper bore dimensions and compression
    • Matched pistons, rings, pins, and retainers sized for your 4.5-inch bore
    • Pin bushings and complete gasket set to seal everything up tight
    • Front and rear crankshaft seals to stop oil leaks at both ends
    • All components designed specifically for angled injector configuration

    Built for Real Farm Work

This kit covers the workhorses in Massey Ferguson's lineup - the 540 series combines that power through harvest season and the heavy-duty 1080 and 1085 series tractors that handle the biggest jobs on the farm. These machines see some of the toughest conditions agriculture can dish out, from dusty grain fields during harvest to heavy tillage work in the spring. The 285 series tractors this fits are solid utility machines perfect for loader work and mid-size farming operations.

    Made to Last

Tru-Power components are built to handle the demands of agricultural diesel engines. The sleeves are precisely honed to factory specifications, while the pistons and rings are designed to seal properly and deliver years of reliable compression. The complete gasket set uses quality materials that stand up to the heat and pressure of hard-working diesel engines.

    Installation Notes

This is definitely a job for the machine shop - you'll need the engine pulled and completely disassembled for proper installation. Have your crankshaft checked and the bearings measured while the kit components are being installed. Most shops will hot-tank the block and check for cracks as part of a proper rebuild. Plan on new filters and fresh fluids when you fire it up for the first time.
