    Description

When your John Deere 1020 starts burning oil or losing compression, it's time for more than just a tune-up. Hard starting on cold mornings and blue smoke at startup are sure signs those cylinders and pistons need attention. This basic in-frame kit gets your reliable 3-cylinder diesel back to full power without the cost and downtime of pulling the entire engine.

    What You're Getting

    • Complete cylinder refresh with new sleeves, sleeve seals, pistons, rings, and pins for solid compression
    • Precision-fit Tru-Power components designed specifically for the 152 CID 3-cylinder diesel
    • Valve-grind gasket set plus oil pan gasket to seal everything up tight
    • Standard 3.86 inch bore pistons with 3-ring design and 2 grooves on sleeve for proper fit
    • Everything needed for an in-frame rebuild while the engine stays in the tractor

    Built for Real Farm Work

The 1020 series earned its reputation as a versatile workhorse on farms and ranches. These compact utility tractors handle everything from loader work and cultivation to hay operations and implement work. The 152 cubic inch 3-cylinder diesel was built for reliability, and with this rebuild kit, you'll get many more years of dependable service from your John Deere.

    Made to Last

Tru-Power builds their engine components to meet original John Deere specifications because they know these engines work hard for a living. The pistons are designed to handle the compression and heat cycles these diesels endure, while the gaskets use materials that won't fail from constant temperature changes between cold starts and hot shutdowns.

    Good to Know

This is an in-frame rebuild, which means you'll be working with the engine still mounted in the tractor. You'll need to remove the head and oil pan, but the block stays put. Don't forget to check your connecting rod bolt length—you'll need to add either 2.125 inch or 2.325 inch rod bolts separately depending on your engine specs.
